Sticker and pencil inscriptions to front pastedown and visible thumb-marking present. Boards have visible rubbing and minor bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends.

Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece, Wood-cut by Clare Leighton, who also drew the four illustrations within the text. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Self embossed decoration of series logo to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Plain text dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Home of the title, was England, for the people of her far-flung colonies. The author, a New Zealander, travel to Britain in the 1920s and voter of his adventures and what he found there. Softening of the backstrip edges and rubbing of the lower book edges. The spine is cocked and there is bumping along the front fore edge. On the rear panel there is an abrasion mark. Sunning, rubbing and foxing to the dustwrapper panels. Results of insect activity can be seen on the backstrip and there is creasing to the top edge of the rear dustwrapper panel.
