Self embossed decoration of series logo to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Plain text dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Home of the title, was England, for the people of her far-flung colonies. The author, a New Zealander, travel to Britain in the 1920s and voter of his adventures and what he found there. Softening of the backstrip edges and rubbing of the lower book edges. The spine is cocked and there is bumping along the front fore edge. On the rear panel there is an abrasion mark. Browning and faint foxing of the textblock edges and of the pages. On the verso of the half title page there is a list of further titles in the Black Swan Series. The dustwrapper is in shabby shape. Chipping to be dustwrapper corners and lower backstrip edge. The top 0.25" of the top backstrip edge is missing and a piece measuring 1.5" x 0.25" is missing from the top left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel. Sunning, rubbing and foxing to the dustwrapper panels. Results of insect activity can be seen on the backstrip and there is creasing to the top edge of the rear dustwrapper panel.
