No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket As Issued. "Jul 14 1953" stamped on the front cover; otherwise spotless inside and out. The upper right corner of the front cover and lower left corner of the back cover are each very mildly bent or creased. A few pages also have a mildly bent corner. Very slight wear to edges of covers. A very nice copy overall. It will be packed with a backing card, bubble-wrapped and shipped in a sturdy, flat box to ensure safe transit. This issue includes: "Railroad news and editorial comment" by David P. Morgan; "Famout steam locomotives: Here's one that missed the torch" (At the end of a forgotten spur the Northern Pacific found its last American Standard. Here's the story of its resurrection.) by R. V. Nixon; "Runaway!" (Engineer Harry Brower tried his brakes. They didn't work. The Federal Express was out of control!" by E. John Long; "Notable feats of railroad engineering: The 'impossible' railroad" (The northern shore of Lake Superior was decidedly not an easy place to build this section of the Canadian Pacific!) by Wallace W. Abbey; "Whistle in the Valley" (Is it true that the Interstate's hopper cards, if put end to end, wouldn't fit on the property? Here's the story of this little coal road.) by H. Reid; "Photo Section" (Steam, diesel and electric railroading in photos); "The Wobbly comes of age" (Part 2 of the history of the Western Pacific, in which the author brings his story up to date.) by Gilbert H. Kneiss; plus "Railway post office" and "Running Extra".
