Original Blue Cloth Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good to Very Good. First Edition. 1983. First edition. [v], 106pp. Signed. Richard Milhous Nixon (1913-1994) was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 until 1974. After five years in the White House that saw the conclusion to the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, and the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency, he became the only president to resign from the office, following the Watergate scandal. In this book he argues that there can be no real peace in the world unless a new relationship is establised between the United States and the Soviet Union. He also looks at the part played by NATO, the relationship with China, and that the danger of a small war in the Third World drawing in the two superpowers. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the top of the spine. The contents are tight and clean and the front free endpaper has been flat signed "Richard Nixon". The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear with bumping and wear to the corners and spine ends. The spine ends have small nicks and there is a tear of about 1/2" on the top front spine edge. There is a larger tear of about 2 3/4" with some surrounding creasing on the top front edge. This tear has been repaired on the reverse with tape and the spine ends and corners have been reinforced on the reverse with tape. Signed by the author.
