Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Kajo Bierl. (illustrator). First British Edition. 120 pp, 7 1/2" H. Decorated endpapers, brown, black & white illustrations. "During the long winter evenings, Peter often thinks how wonderful it would be if his parents had a tent so the family could spend their entire summer holidays camping in the country. It's just a dream though, until one afternoon, whilst idly flicking through a department store brochure, he discovers that its star bargain is a beautiful family tent offered at a 'never-to-be-repeated' bargain price. Without even leaving a message for their parents, Peter and his brother immediately set off for town. It's a long walk but their efforts are rewarded when they find the tent is exactly what they want. Excitedly they climb inside and, daringly, try out the camp-beds. Exhausted by their journey they both fall fast asleep! When they wake, they discover that it's dark outside, the store is locked and shuttered and they can't get out. The situtation is bad enough but suddenly they hear footsteps - there must be a thief in the building with them!" Very light edge wear to boards, small faint stain on rear board. Dust jacket has been clipped at bottom of front flap, light to moderate edge wear/wrinkling, light soiling marks, a few very small chips and tears - mainly at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, a few tiny scuffs on spine, slight browning on spine and flap-folds.
