Hardcover Library Binding. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. From the title page: "Illustrated with nineteen text figures, twenty-nine half-tone plates and fourteen maps." All maps are present. They are small fold-outs at the back of the book printed with a different map on each side (black & white). They have some creases from having been improperly folded back in. The last map is larger and colored. It has tears and repairs to it but is all there. It was apparently torn free from the book at one time and reattached with library paper repair tape. Corner clip on free-front endpaper. The library does this to remove their computer code. Pages have darkened a bit with age. Red binding. The spine has gold lettering of the title and white lettering of the library number. Binding is in very good condition with a bit of rubbing at the spine ends. Corners and spine ends a little bumped. Binding is tight, spine is bright. A couple of pages have creases. 302 pages (including index) plus the maps. 7 5/8" x 4 3/4". Ex-Library.
