First Edition
First (only) edition. Large 4to. Cloth. Very good copy, spine worn. The only number published of this sumptuously illustrated yearbook. With many tipped-in and textual illustrations by Hermann Struck, Ephraim Lilien, and others. The book represents a high point of Hungarian Jewry staking a claim to a cultural place within the majority Hungarian population. The Hungarian Jews were famously patriotic and embraced the Hungarian language against the masses of Jews who gravitated to the German culture sphere. The editor, Jószef Patai, was the father of ethnologist Raphael Patai. In the latter's memoirs, he wrote about his father's devotion to this publishing project. WorldCat shows only one listing (British Library). Rare. Priority Mail only on foreign orders.
