Einfach oder luxuriös, extravagant oder klassisch-schlicht - immer sind diese Baumhäuser wunderbare, inspirierende Beispiele dafür, wie gut ein Rest an Kindlichkeit auch Erwachsenen tut. Eine eigene Bildstrecke zeigt den Bau eines Baumhauses von A bis Z. Wer hat nicht schon einmal von oder in einem Baumhaus geträumt? Dieses Buch übertrifft in vielerlei Hinsicht alles was es bislang über Baumhäuser zu lesen gab. Mit fast schon poetischer Leichtigkeit, die durch die Vielzahl von gelungenen, großformatigen Abbildungen unterstüzt wird, gelingt es dem amerikanischen Verfassertrio dem Leser neben rein technischen Grundlagen, die zum Bau von Baumhäusern erforderlich sind, eine faszinierende Welt in und auf den Bäumen aufzubauen. Wer das Buch von Italo Calvino"Der Baron auf den Bäumen" mag wird auch dieses Buch in kurzer Zeit zu seinen Lieblingsbüchern ins Regal stellen. Zwar dominieren die vielen Farbabbildungen, doch handelt es ich hierbei um keinen reinen Bildband. Die praktischen Instruktionen und Hinweise (Preisangaben in Euro !)lassen den Bau eines einfachen Baumhauses nach genauer Lektüre des Buches durchaus möglich erscheinen. Dabei wird von den Verfassern nie alleine das Baumhaus, sondern vielmehr der Grad der Symbiose zwischen Erbauer, Haus und Baum in den Vordergrund gestellt. Zusätzlich werden im zweiten Teil des Buches einige Kinderspielwelten aus Holz gezeigt, die sicher auch den einen oder andern Erwachsenen zum Verweilen einladen würden. Obwohl das Buch nicht im Niedrigpreisniveau angesiedelt ist, scheint der Preis vollkommen gerechtfertigt. Insbesondere als Familienprojekt erscheint mir dieses Buch ideal, da schnell der Funke überspringt und alle Fammilienmitglieder in die Plannung, Bau und Ausgestaltung des Baumhauses miteinbezogen werden können.
