Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -This book thematises Hegel s earliest writings to explore the role an organic theory plays in his understanding of politics, society, ethics, culture and human nature. The book develops a relational account of the organic where the relations constitutive of the socio-political realm are understood as recognitive ones. Ultimately Hegel presents a non holistic relational social theory mediating the tensions between holism and individualism. This book contributes to the small body of English language writings devoted to Hegel s Early Theological Writings. It does so by showing that many of the features important to Hegel s later work are present in his earliest thinking in a more radical form. Most importantly it demonstrates that both a relational theory of Geist and an ethics of recognition are present in his thinking as early as 1793 and emerged through his thinking about the relationship between religion and society. 272 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Whether understood in a narrow sense as the popular works of a small number of (white male) authors, or as a larger more diffuse movement, twenty-first century scholars, journalists, and activists from all 'sides' in the atheism versus theism debate, have noted the emergence of a particular form of atheism frequently dubbed 'New Atheism'. The present collection has been brought together to provide a scholarly yet accessible consideration of the place and impact of 'New Atheism' in the contemporary world.Combining traditional and innovative approaches, chaptersdraw on the insights of philosophers, religious studies scholars, sociologists, anthropologists, and literary criticsto provide never-before-seen insights into the relationship between 'New Atheism', science, gender, sexuality, space, philosophy, fiction and much more. With contributions from Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom, the volume also presents diversity inregard to religious/irreligious commitment, with contributions from atheists, theists and more agnostic orientations.New Atheism: Critical Perspectives and Contemporary Debatesfeatures an up-to-date overview of current research on 'New Atheism', a Foreword from Stephen Bullivant (co-editor ofThe Oxford Handbook of Atheism), and eleven new chapters with extensive bibliographies that will beimportant to both a general audience and to those conducting research in this area. Itprovides a much-needed fresh look at a contentious phenomenon, and will hopefully encourage the cooperation and dialogue which has predominantly been lacking in relevant contemporary debates. 252 pp. Englisch.
