Rather ornate navy and gold silk ribbons bow tied wrapping the the front flyleaf with a paperclipped note card inscribed with a prize notice "For Excellence in Latin" and the recipient's name. Offset shadow toning to the pages facing the ribbon - pastedown and half-title. Trace rubbing to lettering at spine. Light surface pitting to the top edge of the page block from silverfish predation.
