Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. The inaugural 2 issues of Greenwich Village based Beatliterary magazine Exodus, founded in 1959 and edited by Bernard Scott and Daniel Wolf via Judson Studio, an affiliate of the Judson Church. The cover of issue 1, a photograph by Larry Siegel, pictures Robert Frank and Larry Rivers filming the short "Pull My Daisy" (1959) - an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's play "The Beat Generation". These issues include Poems of Holy Madness by Ray Bremser six years before the publication of his debut collection by the same name, an assessment of the work of Simone Weil by Susan Taubes, work by Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy, Ron Loewinsohn, a series of bleak, apocalyptic linocut prints by Richard Tyler, and more. Both books 6" x 9" softcovers, perfect bound in card wraps. 72/71pp. with illustrations in black and white. Binding of both intact - issue 2 slightly cocked and a bit free to open throughout. Pages unmarked and quite crisp for their age. A small stain to spines, occasional spotting to first few pages of issue 2. Shelfwear mild mainly at edges - some rubbing to rear covers. Very good copies.
