No Binding. Condition: Near Fine. Held at NYC's Biltmore in 1956, the Convention Banquet for the fourteenth World Science Fiction Convention ( more commonly referred to as NYCON II. ) A single sheet displaying the list of honorees for this event, as well as the menu. The Guest of Honor was Arthur C. Clarke. The Speakers were Al Capp and Issac Asimov, and that year's Toastmaster was Robert Bloch. All four individuals have signed the program. The sheet also bears the signatures of Anthony Boucher, Ruth Greenberg, Martin Greenberg, David Kyle, George Raybin, Ted Carnell. There were 850 science fiction fans in attendance and there were apparently non-paying individuals listening to the speakers from a balcony, giving rise to the sci fi catch phrase; " Dave Kyle says you can't sit here. " The document was originally folded both horizontally and vertically, and both folding creases are present. A near fine item of science fiction ephemera from the days when it was establishing itself as an independent literary force . Signed by Arthur C. Clarke, Issac Asimov, Al Capp, Robert Bloch, Anthony Boucher and additional luminaries of the science fiction universe. Matted and framed. ( Inexpensively ). Signed by Author(s).
