Profusely illustrated in color. Unpaginated, c. 74 pp., including illustrations. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at the Robert Miller Gallery in New York. Predominantly illustrations with accompanying captions. Gilbert Proesch (1943-) and George Passmore (1942-) met in art school in 1967, and have been making dynamic, confrontational concept and pop art ever since. They invented a now-common trope by painting themselves to look like statues and performing robotic songs as "singing sculptures," blurring the lines between life and art. Their philosophy is that no topic is off-limits, whether it's politics or pooping. They steal from British royal iconography's crests and primary color palettes, stuffy corporate personae, and labor movement imagery. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
