Signed
unbound. Two rare and seldom seen official holiday greeting cards (unsigned), printed by the Egyptian government for official use by President Anwar Sadat. The first, from 1974-1975, measures 5.5 x 8 inches and depicts a Muslim-stained glass image and an embossed Egyptian Heraldic Eagle Coat of Arms on the cover. Mounted inside is a separate sheet that reads (in English and Arabic), "President Anwar El Sadat extends his best wishes for Christmas & New Year." Arguably the most desirable of the "official" holiday cards sent by the Sadat regime due to his immense success in concluding two agreements that year on disengagement of forces with the Israeli government. The second, from 1980-1981, measures 5.25 x 7.75 inches and depicts Islamic artwork and an embossed Egyptian Heraldic Eagle Coat of Arms on the cover. Mounted inside is a separate sheet with an identical printed salutation as above. Both cards are in very good condition. Third president of Egypt, serving from October 1970 until his assassination on October 6, 1981. He was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the Middle East Peace Accords.
