Dort dienen ihm nun die Inselbewohner Caliban, mißgestalteter Sohn einer Hexe, und der Luftgeist Ariel: die Edelvariante des Puck aus dem ?Sommernachtstraum? Prospero nutzt das Zusammentreffen mit seinen Feinden nicht zur grausamen Rache. Alonso, Antonio und Co. müssen zwar verschiedene Qualen erleiden, werden aber schließlich begnadigt. Höhepunkt der Versöhnung und Beweis der Allmacht von Prosperos Willen ist die feierliche Verlobung Mirandas mit Ferdinand, dem Sohn Alonsos.
