Archaeology of the Columbia-Fraser Region primarily concerns with two sites, the Bertelson site (in what is now Seattle), and the McClallum site (also spelled McCallum, Mccallum, and Macallum). Smith was not a trained archaeologist, but rather an anthropologist, and during this period of her career interested in house types. Any artifacts examined were previously collected by the Bertelson and McClallum families and provided to Smith to examine. Cattle Point is a site on San Juan Island, Washington, a seasonally occupied site by two distinct groupsthe first meat-eaters (deer and elk), the second fish and shellfish eaters. More than 500 artifacts were recovered from the site. Condition: Spine ends chipped, corners bumped and rubbed, edge wear else very good.
