Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. States "Eighth printing November 1946" of an edition originally published 1936. Signed upside down to the blank FFE (as usual) in blue ink -- probably a fountain pen -- "Kind Wishes / Paul Robeson." FFE also bears to top right the PON "Marilyn Du Gas / Soph. '47." (not "Dugas.") Small stain (small as a fingernail) near bottom of front board. The "good" original dust jacket is not price-clipped -- original $2.50 price showing -- but jacket shows dampstains, and considerable chipping to top of rear panel. NOT signed by the author Stanislavski (who was, of course, unavailable by this date.) Theater, method acting. 295 pp., reduced from $210.
