On the bottom front cove, side near the front fore edge and the spine, there is a white substance. There is also a splotch of this substance right next to "Stevens" on the top half of the front cover. There is rubbing of the edges of the boards, and top/bottom spine. Surprisingly, the binding is still square and tight. There is an owner's name in pencil on the first paste down. Also, there is a partial stamp with a city and state name and a pencil price on the first FEP. Pages are toned. Black and white illustrations of plants and plant parts. Good reference and reading copy.
