Squire (illustrator). ; Green cover with arts & crafts style illustration has light wear along the extremities, hinges are cracked with 1" chips to the spine caps and clear scotch tape has been crudely added to hold the backstrip. Boards and spine are straight. Although binding is is in need of repair, the individual signatures are still intact. Lacking frontispiece and title page otherwise complete with mostly b&w in the style of the arts & crafts era in which the book was created and many color illustrations. Pages are lightly toned with modest thumbing.
Boards. Condition: Very Good. E. Mars and M. H. Squire (illustrator). First Thus. 12 x 12 inches (30.5 x 30.5 cm), pale green boards, with darker green and pink illustrations. Wear to extremities, gift inscription on front free endpaper to "Howard B. Sprague who was a Boston doctor. Frontispiece water color of a little girl in a garden, color and black and white illustration on title page. Illustrations on every page, mostly black and white and many color plates. Good tight copy.115pp. Mars and Squire are a lesbian couple who were life long collaborators.
