Covers soiled, abraded at foot of spine and lower outer edge of rear panel (without loss of text), blue oval rubber stamp to front cover from music store in Nairobi, else very good. "Plunket Greene (1865-1936), an Irish baritone, "included a selection from the Songs of Travel by Ralph Vaughan Williams in recital in February 1905. Then (or soon afterwards) the composer heard him and dedicated the songs to him, and Greene afterwards quoted from them, and from Silent Noon (from the House of Life cycle), in his work on Interpretation in Song. Greene was responsible for establishing these songs in the English concert repertoire, where he was constantly attempting to raise the standard and quality of appreciation of English song through his programming." - wikipedia.

Original copyright 1905, stated renewed 1935, but sample piece on the rear cover is copyright 1943, so the price sticker on the cover may be that of the publisher. Rear cover features a sample of "Wind in the Tree-Tops" by Gene Bone and Howard Fenton. Originally printed as part of *Songs of Travel* (Part One), this standalone 1943 printing appears less common with only two holdings in *OCLC*.
