Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Signed and inscribed by the author, neuropsychologist William Stixrud on the half-title page. I found only one other signed copy of this book for sale on the Internet. I'm pricing my copy at half the price of that one, despite my copy being in excellent condition. The inscription reads 'To Davis (?) and Jen, I really hope you enjoy the book and find it helpful! Bill Stixrud.' As you can see from the photos, the very white covers are very clean. They also have very little wear, a little crinkling at the spine ends. The page edges are very clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout, no binding issues. These pages are also exceptionally clean. That includes the white inside covers and end papers. Scrolling through, I'm not seeing any soiling at all. Nor do I see any creasing of any kind. There are no attachments. And with the exception of the co-author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The dust jacket, which can be seen in the first few photos, is in similarly excellent condition. Despite its white color, there is no soiling. Nor are there any tears. Really, no wear that needs to be called out. The flaps are also in excellent condition and perfectly clean. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Here is one of a number of blurbs from the rear cover of the jacket: 'A battle plan to attack the anxiety that's devouring kids and decimating their native potential. This extraordinary book shines a light into the darkness of test dread, chronic sleeplessness, 24/7 social media "beauty pageants," and the full array of stress-induced forces that undermine children. But Stixrud and Johnson do more than identify the demons-- they slay them. Read this incisive, witty, deeply researched book, and help your child bend toward the sunlight of learning and self-directed joy. A must-read.'-- Ron Suskind William Stixrud is a clinical neuropsychologist and a faculty member at Children's National and the George Washington University School of Medicine. He lectures widely on the adolescent brain, motivation, and the effects of stress, sleep deprivation, and technology overload on the brain. He is on the board of the David Lynch Foundation and is a proponent of Transcendental Meditation. Ned Johnson is the founder of PrepMatters, a tutoring service in Washington, DC, and the co-author of Conquering the SAT. Johnson Is a sought after speaker and team coach for study skills, parent-teen dynamics, and anxiety management. Inscribed by Author(s).
