First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm "High Fidelity Long Play" (mono) vinyl jazz record album, Brunswick BL 54009, mint vinyl in a "very good" glossy cardboard jacket to which unfortunately a previous owner has run long strips of wide, clear tape along all three closed edges. Vibraphonist Gibbs, born 1925, won a Major Bowes talent contest playing the concert xylophone when he was 12. After three years in an armored division (probably without xylophone), he played with Tommy Dorsey, Chubby Jackson (back in Europe), Woody Herman, and Benny Goodman on the "Star Time" TV show. He was named "King of the Vibes" by the Downbeat and Metronome polls for 1950-51. Most of his offerings here are his own compositions. Reduced from $21.
