Book Signed
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. A very good copy of the softcover edition, warmly inscribed and signed by the author [Judy] on the half-title page. The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the binding is bright and fresh in appearance, with an incipient curl to the front cover panel: unobtrusive. Previous owner's small address label in upper corner, inside the front cover. A lovely copy, uncommon signed. Signed by Author(s).

In addition to this "English edition", 1000 copies were also published with a German commentary volume and 350 copies with a a Spanish commentary volume.- - Facsimile of the Beatty Rosarium, a rosarium codex containing a collection of devotions dedicated to the Virgin Mary, written in Latin on parchment with beautiful miniatures painted by Simon Bening (1483-1561), the last of the great masters of Flemish manuscript painting. This rosarium was made between 1540-1545 in Bruges. One of the most striking features of this richly illuminated copy is the purple margins on the pages, a distinguishing feature that indicates that this work was in royal possession. This illuminated rosarium was indeed commissioned by either the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V (1500-1558) or his son, Philip II, King of Spain (1527-1598).
