A very scarce early American sporting book. "A remarkable and accurate account of hunting elk, deer, bears, wolves, trapping and fishing from 1791 to about 1825, in the counties of Lycoming and those adjacent and in Warren County, Pennsylvania.This is one of the prize books of my library. At present, June 10, 1914, it is the only known copy" (Charles Sheldon, quoted in Phillips). ".adventures of an early 19th century deer hunter.contains everything from fire hunting deer to capturing grown elk alive on the waters of the Susquehanna.
