Tremaine wrote a heart-felt tribute, included in this issue. The letter was a hoax. Tucker lived another 70 years, and wrote (as Wilson Tucker) a lot of great SF and mystery fiction. When Tremaine learned of the hoax, he imposed severe restrictions on printing subsequent fan letters to the editor.
