Condition: Very Good. A scrapbook with stiff illustrated wraps. 12 by 9 inches. Each page has a carefully glued newspaper clipping. The edges are larger than the pages and are worn. The interior has no flaws to note. Andrew Jenson, the author was Assistant L.D.S. Church Historian. The scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings glued into blank pages of a book entitled: "Day by day with the Utah pioneers 1847." The items were originally published in the newspapers the "Salt Lake Tribune" and the "Deseret News." The clippings refer to the migration of 1847 to Utah and the early settling of that state by Mormon pioneers. Ref: BYU.

The extremities are rubbed (including the gilt stamped title on the backstrip), and there are several light scratches on the front board. There is a 4" closed tear in the top edge of the original front wrap, along with a handful of shorter closed tears in the edges, a few of which have been backed with tape. The last couple of pages also have small closed tears in the edges. Else, the pages are free of tears and marks. Flake 7510.
