Soft cover. Condition: Good. Softcover. White covers with a photograph of a flamingo and black lettering. Dated 1989 on copyright page. No date on title page. 220 pages. Good condition. Binding is snug and strong. Some very light rubbing to the corners, but no tears or creases. Covers faintly toned. Pages lightly toned as well, with some light foxing to the edges and title page. No other marks or writing to be found. SIGNED by author on the title page, where she has written, " For Tom, I look forward to welcoming you to Sian Ka'an Saluda- Barbara 9 Oct. 1995". Overall good condition. This book is from the collection of Thomas Lovejoy. Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term biological diversity to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
