Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. Vintage English language reprint that (based on a publication notice on the verso of the title pages) is probably one volume from a six-volume Victor Hugo box set (circa 1886). Listed as only 'Poor' because the front cover is detached but this copy is an otherwise G to VG 12mo hardcover with decorated paper-covered boards half bound in burgundy leather, slightly raised spine binds (5) tan leather spline labels and gilt spine lettering and decoration. Bumped and rubbed corners; a bit of rubbing to the paper covers and on the edges. Faded edge decoration. Decorated end papers. A prior owner has signed and dated (Dec 25 / [18]90) a ffep while a different owner's blue address stamp is at the top of the front paste-down and the author's preface page (dated 1877). Closed bottom edge tear on the frontispiece and covering tissue. The contents (vii + 413 pp. + 'twenty full-page illustrations') otherwise appear clean, complete and securely bound. NOT an ex-library copy.
