Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Illustrated green cloth hardcover with gilt laurel wreath and image of Hercules on frt bd. Not ex-lib. 176 pp text is tight and bright without tears, names or soil. Illustrated, unclipped dj in new mylar has a few small closed tears and color loss at tips but displays very well. Young Wimpole Stout has a problem, True, he's small for his age and has so many freckles that his mother calls him: a walking freckle and his father explains: he's a freckle with a boy attached. But his problem is more than that. What can a boy do when his ears are too big for the rest of him? Hercules performed his twelve great labors to free himself from servitude; Wimpole Stout plunges into his twelve humorous feats simply to grow into his ears. Though the labors of Hercules and those of Wimpole Stout differ, the courage, persistence and ingenuity are the same.
