Spine and portions of boards age toned to light brown, corners and edges bumped, approximately 1/8th inch fraying at head and foot of spine. Many of the other characters are from prominent local families, such as Brodhead, and Saylor, and events mentioned, such as the building of a timber bridge over Tunkhannock Creek, with an accident caused by on the job drinking, are quite consistent with the time. Rare; only 1 copy on OCLC. Temperance; alcoholic; alcoholism; drinking; Americana; history; biography; homelessness; ruin; melodrama.
