Colorado 1870-2000 is a pictorial history of frontier Colorado consisting of repeat photography by photographers William Henry Jackson and John Fielder and was success with Colorado residents and is most widely known as Colorado Then and Now. It won the Colorado Humanities Colorado Book Award for nonfiction of Colorado/West in 1999. William Henry Jackson (1843-1942) was one of the most prolific (and maybe the most famous) of Western photographers. During his lengthy career, Jackson photographed numerous views of the West between Nebraska and California, from cliff dwellings to industrial urban centers.
