Sixteen volume set of Shakespeare, complete; "with 171 engravings on steel after the Boydell Illustrations; and sixty-four photogravures Chiefly from life", showcasing nicely engraved small versions of the Boydell Gallery. Includes the Poems, a Life, presumably by the editors, and the last volume contains Variorum readings, quotations, & an index to characters. Undated, but a Mrs. Sarah F. Dearborn got them in 1898, and according to the personalized limitation page in Volume I, they were printed for her. The Barries printed a number of different limited editions using the Boydell images. "Interlinear" edition, # 264 of 500 copies printed on Japanese vellum paper, with captioned fine tissue guards for each plate. Clark/Wright text, with interlinear notes rather than footnotes. Hardcover, full navy cloth with paper spine label in red & black. General wear, labels scuffed & tanned, faded, pages lightly tanned, name & date in some volumes. Size: Octavo. Set.
