Introduction, appendices, roster, illus., footnotes, 138p. Reminiscneces of service with the 19th Virginia Infantry, CSA by an officer in Company A. Originally published in a series of newspaper articles in Charlottesville and later in a very small edition of only 200 copies for private distribution. Excessively rare in the first edition. This printing marks the second edition of Big I in book form. The author of these valuable recollections of soldier life in Lee's army entered Confederate service in 1862 and fought until his capture during Grant's campaigns around Richmond in 1864. He spent the remaineder of the war in a prison camp on Johnson's Island, Ohio.
