Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Third Possibly. Interesting copy of Cry, the Beloved Country (without the subtitle: A Story of Comfort in Desolation]. No date, 24th printing Scribner Library $3.45, 283 pp in Very Good condition, a few light creases and age toning. It has the "Eloff Street" cover. The paperback ISBN [684718634] appears to be a MacMillan number, although all other markings indicate The Scribner Library of Contemporary Classics Number 7. On back cover is listed SL 218, Paton's South African Tragedy, published circa 1965. Scribner chronology website indicates the founding of an education division in July 1968 to promote the SL Paperback Series, which may well have initiated the replacement of the old Scribner Library series standardised covers with those such as the Eloff Street cover with its popart elements. The use of the ISBN suggests 1968 or later, and the nine places on the cover suggest early rather than later.
