Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware -Im Jahre 1922 reichte der Philosoph und Kunsthistoriker Edgar Wind (1900-1971) die Schrift 'Aesthetischer und kunstwissenschaftlicher Gegenstand. Ein Beitrag zur Methodologie der Kunstgeschichte' an der Hamburger Universität ein und wurde von Erwin Panofsky und Ernst Cassirer promoviert. Bedingt durch die Inflation der zwanziger Jahre musste Wind nur ein Kondensat der Arbeit veröffentlichen und erhielt 1924 die Promotionsurkunde. Der umfangreiche Urtext wurde nie publiziert. Im Kern analysiert Wind das Verhältnis ästhetischer Annäherung und theoretischer Fassung von Werken der Kunst als methodische Problemstellung. Doch spielt er beide Positionen keineswegs gegeneinander aus, wie es zeitbedingt nicht untypisch gewesen wäre. Ihm war vielmehr daran gelegen, die Zuständigkeiten einer konkreten Kunstwissenschaft zu bestimmen und die 'Einheit von individueller und werthafter Bedeutsamkeit theoretisch aufzuweisen', wie Erwin Panofsky in seinem Gutachten vermerkt. Denn Wind beschrieb die methodische Umwandlung des kunstästhetischen Gegenstandes in einen kunstwissenschaftlichen, ohne den beiden Herangehensweisen ihre Bedeutung abzusprechen. Er betonte vielmehr ihre eigenständige Gewichtung und verband sie in der Analyse. In diesem Gedankengang ist die Schrift ungebrochen aktuell, denn das wissende Auge sieht mehr. Die immer noch überaus lesenswerte Arbeit wird nun - als zweiter Band einer Edgar-Wind-Edition - erstmals publiziert. 383 pp. Deutsch.
