Asimismo encontramos un relato del caballeroso ladrón de guante blanco Arsène Lupin, creado por el francés Maurice Leblanc y un cuento de Jacques Futrelle, protagonizado por el profesor Van Dusen, apodado La Máquina Pensante. La recopilación se cierra con uno de los relatos de Chesterton protagonizados por el famoso Padre Brown, más partidario siempre de redimir al delincuente que de castigarlo.
