Un Miguel de Cervantes, cuya vida azarosa lo llevó desde los servicios cortesanos a la guerra naval, de secretario a la esclavitud del prisionero o desde las labores administrativas a la cárcel, por deudas, volcó su experiencia humana y literaria en una novela que resume la historia literaria anterior y descubre e inicia las posibilidades futuras de la creación escrita.
