Fahrenheit 451 tornou-se um clássico não sà na literatura, mas tambà m no cinema. Em 1966, o diretor François Truffaut adaptou o livro e lançou o filme de mesmo nome estrelado por Oskar Werner e Julie Christie. Sobre o autor Ray Bradbury nasceu em 1920, em Waukegan, Illinois, EUA. De 1941 a 1945, colaborou nas revistas Weird Tales, Amazing Stories, Astounding Science Fiction e outras revistas populares. Em 1946, um de seus trabalhos aparece na seleção do ano, The Best American Short Stories of 1946. Desde então, escreveu pelo menos um conto por semana. Seus livros tornaram-no um dos autores mais lidos não sà nos Estados Unidos, mas tambà m no Brasil, França, Inglaterra, Alemanha, Itália, Argentina e Rússia. Entre suas obras mais conhecidas estão Carnaval negro, seu primeiro livro, publicado em 1947; Crà nicas marcianas, O homem ilustrado, Os frutos dourados do sol, Outros contos do paÃs de outubro e F de foguete. Bradbury tambà m escreveu peças teatrais, roteiros cinematográficos, poesias e programas especiais para televisão.
