Softcover. First Edition / First Printing. First Edition / First Printing. Softcover. Wright was a novelist, artist, and poet, whose work was published widely in the small press and has become somewhat hard to find. This a PRESENTATION COPY is warmly signed & inscribed to bookseller, Bert Babcock. Also laid in is an enjoyable 1.5 page handwritten letter by the author, as well as a brief typed letter signed with its original mailing envelope. The handwritten letter mentions his first novel THE WHOREHOUSE and mentions challenges with getting its sequel published due to the publisher. He refers to his first novel as a "scatalogical" work, and humorously mentions his worry over the reaction to it by Miriam Patchen (Kenneth Patchen's wife) and his mom. Fun letter, by a very interestng and entertaining writer who was mostly known entirely within the small press world. 8vo, pictorial wrappers. PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers. Near fine with small ding a base of spine and lightly creased corner on rear cover. Both letters are near fine with minimal signs of handling.
