Her contributions to African-American Studies, Women's and Workers' Studies helped to lay the foundation for current efforts at academic diverisfication. Acting on a dream deferred she began, in the mid-1970s, to develop her skills as a graphic artist, muralist and sculptor. The author lives in Oaxaca, Mexico.
