The Secretary of the Treasury, Levi Woodbury (1789-1851), is officially sending a report from John M. Moore, the acting commissioner of the General Land Office, to Vice President Martin van Buren. The report covers the activities of the land offices during 1835 and most of 1836 in selling and surveying public land. Very scarce. In Very Good- Condition: first and last pages are heavily foxed; otherwise, lightly foxed but clean and tight.

Born in September, 1762, Abel Turney of Fairfield Connecticut enlisted as a U.S. Marine in 1780, and served on the ship "Alliance". Turney was badly wounded in the right leg by enemy cannon shot, which left his leg useless. Here he "asks Congress to pay to him a sum equal to a full pension", which he did not receive between 1792 and 1808.
