In April 1943 he was arrested and imprisoned for his (alleged) part in a plot to kill Hitler. He was executed in Flossenburg concentration camp in April 1945, by which time the Third Reich was obviously doomed. (Those Socialists -- they only behave this way because they love us.) Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. For 2000 years, Christian monks have been living the original "green" lifestyle based upon their vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. This book looks at the ways in which monastic teaching and practice can guide our own lives to make them simpler, less extravagant and healthier. There are three sections to the book, based upon each of the vows. "Poverty" deals with our material needs, "Chastity" with our relationships and "Obedience" with our spiritual lives. In each section, ten topics are discussed. These include money, food, cooking, home, work, clothes, health, fidelity, celibacy, sex, honesty, forgiveness, children, age , hospitality, prayer, worship, belief, study, confession, sleep, holidays and death. Octavo softcover (VG+); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book will reduce your overall postage costs.
