orig.wrappers Minor rubbing. Some light stains to rear cover. VG. 22x14cm, 103 pp., Includes a 9-page Foreword by Gotfred Appel dated November 1973. Published by the press of Appel's "Communist Working Circle". Appel - the most controversial figure of the Danish left of his day- formed Europe's first Maoist party, Kommunistisk Arbejdskreds (KAK), in 1963 , and was at the forefront of 1960's anti-Vietnam-war militancy in Copenhagen. His party was the first western European leftwing group to form ties with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and an clandestine section of Appel's group materially aided the PFLP by engaging in spectacular robberies of military depots and banks throughout the 1970s-80s (the Blekingegade Gang). Appel's unique theoretical position within the Danish left of his day - the "Snylterstatsteorien" - held that Western European working classes were bribed collaborators of states parasiting upon the profits extracted from exploiting the third world. This argument is developed in Appel's preface to this book: ".,.Of course Lenin was right when, like Marx and Engels, he maintained that the correct revolutionary policy regarding the workers must be to go beyond the bribed stratum with its petty bourgeois way of life and to talk directly to the impoverished majority of the proletarians proper. He was right, since at that time there did actually exist such an impoverished majority, such proletarians proper., In the advanced industrialized imperialist couintries of today there is no longer an impoverished majority of workers outside the bribed minority.,.They are all bribed. In these countries there are no proletarians in the proper sense of the word.,." - page 11. Minor rubbing. Some light stains to rear cover. VG.
