Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. Bradbury, Ray (illustrator). Limited Edition. With each of their many Ray Bradbury titles, Gauntlet Press had extra tipsheets signed by Bradbury, and those that were unused were stored. Gauntlet are now using these 'classic' tipsheets on other Bradbury books. This copy of 'Phoenix 451' has a tipsheet for 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' that has been signed by Ray Bradbury, Joe Lansdale and Peter Crowther. Originally limited to only 150 numbered copies, Gauntlet Press increased this number to 170 when a few more signed tipsheets were found. Here we have #167. In 'Phoenix 451' you will find three variations of Bradbury's script adapting his novel, 'Fahrenheit 451'. One is a musical, another for the stage, and one a screenplay. You'll also have a chance to peruse Bradbury's typed second draft of the novel, which differs from the version that was ultimately published. Edited by Elizabeth Nahum-Albright, there is so much more you'll find in 'Phoenix 541', including reminiscences by Bradbury's bibliographer Donn Albright, complete with many of Bradbury's famous 'doodles', as well as photos from the personal collection of Nahum-Albright of Bradbury's home and office. The glossy dust jacket features two Bradbury paintings. Altogether a must-have for discerning fans of Ray Bradbury. This copy is in mint condition, as received directly from Gauntlet Press. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Heavy/oversize book. U.K. postage at default rate but international buyers will be asked for a little extra. All orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured. Signed by the Author.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition. Hardcover, F/F dj, as new unread copy. Slipcased, signed, numbered, and limited to 750 copies; still sealed in publishers shrinkwrap. Housed in a handsome wooden slipcase; includes the limited edition chapbook, The Dragon Who Ate His Tail. Ray Bradbury didn't sit down one day and decide to write his classic novel Fahrenheit 451. As with Something Wicked This Way Comes Bradbury's tale of censorship had its roots years earlier in at least 9 short stories or novellas. While published in 1953 the genesis of Fahrenheit 451 can be traced back to 1944. Over the next several years Bradbury tinkered with the idea in a number of short stories a few that have been collected a number of times, some that appeared just once and others that have remained unpublished . . . Until now. MATCH TO FLAME: The Fictional Paths to Fahrenheit 451 traces the roots of Fahrenheit 451 in Bradbury's earlier fiction. Edited by Donn Albright, the book is a must for those who have marveled at Fahrenheit 451. The centerpiece of the book, is of course, "The Fireman" a novella published in Galaxy Magazine in 1951. Signed by Bradbury, this is bound to become a classic edition for scholars looking into the history of Fahrenheit 451, collectors and readers of great fiction, and those interested in obscure and unpublished Bradbury material that will not see publication anywhere else.
