Leben und Werk: Walters ist die Tochter des Armeeoffiziers Capt Samuel Jebb und seiner Frau Colleen. Deshalb verbrachte sie die ersten 10 Jahre ihres Lebens auf Armeestützpunkten im Norden und Süden Englands. Nach dem Tod ihres Vaters besuchte sie zunächst die Abbey School in Reading, Berkshire, bis sie ein Stipendium für die Godolphin Boarding School in Salisbury erhielt.
