No Binding. Condition: Very Good. 10" x 7.5", 4 p. Some tanning, minor edge chipping and a 3 inch split at the edge of the printed area on page 3/4 otherwise a very good copy of the first printing of the facsimile of the exceedingly rare first edition. Mainly written by Padraic Pearse with the announcement of the Easter Rising on the last page under Stop Press. The original was the only publication known to have been printed in the area controlled by the Rebels during the Rising, in a commandeered print works in Halston Street. A copy was sold at auction recently with the legend across the top as follows "Facsimile of the Insurgent Newspaper. Only this single issue was published.". This version is believed to be a later production, perhaps before 1924 as we have a copy of Volume 1 Number 2 of Irish War News dated Easter 1924. Our Irish War News has the simple legend "Facsimile of Irish War News" at the head.
