Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. "It is an account of the times and crimes of certain of Australia's more colourful villains, the anti-heroes of colonial days. Here, rescued from the forgotten pages of early newspapers, are the truth stories of such unknown adventurers as Owen Suffolk, the poetic highwayman, and Sam Poo, the Chinese bushranger. Here, too, are grim tales of murder on the goldfields, piracy in Melbourne harbour and poisonings in distant London. Rogues' March deals in some detail with the great Victorian parliamentary scandals of the 1890s - the disgrace and trial of the Speaker of the House, the flight of the Premier when his financial juggling failed to save his own bank, and the Great Mace Mystery." --- Original orange papered boards, lettered white on spine (22 cm height).
