Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper. A few dog-eared corners. Heavy water staining to first few pages. Intense cracking to hinges. Boards have heavy edge wear, with bumping and fraying to corners and almost total loss of edge tooling. Spine ends are crushed and frayed. Joints worn too. Large loss of spine leather with visible gatherings and possible fire damage. Front board almost detached. Scratched, rubbed and marked overall.

Advertisement pages to rear. Pages are heavily tanned with visible foxing throughout. Free endpaper removed. Slight crinkling to paper at gutters, however binding remains firm. Pencil inscription to front pastedown and first page. Noticeable brown marks with thumb-marking throughout. Minor pen annotations to a couple of pages. Pages are slightly creased, with minor dog-eared corners. Text block edges dyed brown. Boards have visible edge wear with corner bumping. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Small area of loss to front cover, exposing card underneath. Leather slightly peeling to edges and corners. Water staining with rings marks to boards. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
