Coulter : A Master's Brush with the Sea Exhibition April 18-October 31, 2006, at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. published by San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and the Paul and Linda Kahn Foundation About 100 paintings and sketches illustrating the best samples from each period and style of Coulter's works will be featured. Coulter documented the development of maritime commerce in the Pacific, of the west coast and especially of the bay area from 1869 - 1936. His work is especially significant because it provides a visual time portal to the post-Gold-Rush-era of the Barbary Coast, the dramatic changes brought about by the city's rebuilding after the 1906 fire and the shift in maritime trade from sail to steam. The exhibition will be mounted in the heart of Coulter's waterfront, the at 499 Jefferson St. (corner at Hyde) across from Hyde Street pier at Fisherman's Wharf. very good condition BX48.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - From England to Wyoming via Germany and New York. Yramiris Paul Tracy rebelled against traditional norms to forge the life she wanted to live-life on a ranch in the west. As she told her NYC lawyer in 1957, 'My children will know the sky, the sunshine, the mountains, the prairie sage! My children will play on the back of a horse, not in a grimy alley.'Yry was not just a unique individual, she was elusive. And she was a study in contrasts: a romantic dreamer, yet hard-headed and tough as nails when confronted with obstacles that would have pulled others up short. Her flair for the dramatic, paired with a fear of intimacy and exposure, resulted in a wake of similar, but never-matching stories of her past. Her complex nature drew people to shake their heads in wonder and sometimes in disapproval, but to love her just the same. This book is the author's attempt to unravel the enigma that was her mother and to share Yry's uniqueness beyond the scope of her friends and family.
