Works from 13 Maori artists are featured in this title and the scope ranges over traditional Maori garments and woven items, carving, murals, contempory art with Maori themes taking several styles and sculpture, with the "final word" going to poet Hone Tuwhare, with several examples of his art form. Other artists are writer Patricia Grace, Rangimarie Hetet, Diggeress Te Kanawa, Puti Rare, Pakariki Harrison, Tuti Tukaokao, Para Matchitt, Buck Nin, Frederick Graham, Arnold Wilson, Selwyn Maru and Ralph Hotere. Each is pictured with a b/.w photograph followed by colour examples of their work, some extending across two pages. These are by Kees Sprengers.
