Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. Maroon cloth covered boards with gold stamped lettering on spine and front cover. Book is in good condition overall, but does have a bit of a musty odor. Covers are a bit soiled and worn, the page edges are, as well. The spine is bumped and slightly cocked. The contents are tight. There is some foxing and browning to the pages, especially the end pages. Overall a decent copy of a hard to find history of a Wall Street legal firm. ; 141 pages plus a three-page index to Carver's "addenda" which he describes as being a separate file. Carvers states (page 7) that the addenda isn't part of this book and the information will not be included but an index of the items will be included at the end of the book. ; Illustrated from black and white photos; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 141pp + (3) pages; The firm started in 1842 as John E. Burrill, a year later, Pirnie & Burrill and from 1843 to 1933, changed partners several times, ultimately becoming Sage Gray Todd & Sims. The firm, which was one of Wall Street's oldest law firms broke up in 1987. This history covers the firm from its beginnings to 1968, the year that Carver retired. The author primarily uses biographical sketches to illustrate the firm's history.
